Self-care is so important but probably more so right now. With the festive season over and the added bonus of another lockdown looming it can be a stressful time. Which is why practising some self-care can help you so much.
There are many forms of self-care and the best thing to do is do what works for you. If you like relaxing on the sofa watching Tv as your self-care then do that. Or if you prefer practising some meditation do that too. Anything you enjoy can be your form of self-care.
Journaling is a new one for me but there are so many benefits to journaling. Some use it as an outlet and others use journaling as a form of self-care. Spending an hour each day with a pen & notebook with some journaling prompts, you’ll be surprised how relaxed and refocused you’ll feel. Our Design Palette Teal Lined Notebook is the perfect notebook for journaling.
Yoga / Exercising
If exercise is your form of self-care then its the perfect time to get back into your routine now that it is the new year you can get a fresh start. If you’re still a bit apprehensive about going straight back into heavy workouts, why not try some low impact or yoga at-home workouts. I have recently started doing yoga a few mornings a week, as well as body balance videos and I am feeling so much more stress-free for my day ahead. Check out Yoga with Adriene who is running a 30 Day Yoga series this January.
Making Time For Yourself
Even though we have been at home for months and even if you are still working from home, it’s important to make time for yourself. Spend an hour reading or have a bath, even go for a walk and listen to a podcast. Just spend an hour doing something for you.
Take a bath and have a pamper.
This is coming from the girl who hates baths but every time I think of self-care I immediately think of relaxing in a bath. So another form of self-care can be giving yourself a pamper night. Have a bath, put on a face mask or even a hair mask, do your nails anything you want to make you feel good.
Have an Early Night
It may not seem like it but having an early night or getting a full 8 hours sleep can be the best form of self-care you can give yourself. If you’ve had a bad day or just feel extra tired head to bed early and you’ll wake up feeling so refreshed the next day.
